Out of 80% only 40% linkage of Aadhar with ration cards in Pune District: District Administration
WITH 80% of Aadhar card linkage for Pune district, the district’s food and civil supply department has done 40% linkage of Aadhar card with ration cards in Pune District. Target of another 40% ration card holders to be covered till December 31. After having several extensions, the officials have set the target for the month end.
“It is a mounting task as people are not approaching along with the details of the Aadhar card. Even as department has been requesting them to provide details, the peoples are not forthcoming, which is the major cause of delay in the process,’’ said district supply officer Jyoti Kadam. The officials have already reached out to the 18 lakh ration card holders in the district through approx. 2,800 fair price shops providing linkage facility.
The earlier time-limit was May 31 and it was extended to December 31. The supply officials are set to find out bogus public distribution beneficiaries and gather information of all card holders through fair price shops. “We managed 40% and are trying to collate data from the fair price shops through regular updating of our system and by reaching out to real consumers directly through the fair price shops,’’ added the officials. The state have already given a green signal to redesign the public distribution system earlier this year.
